Another Fine Mess Cooking Camp & Workshops – Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions
In these terms and conditions:

"we", "us", or "our" means Another Fine Mess Cooking Camp & Workshops.

"you" or "your" means the relevant Participant(s) named on the registration form or, where the Participant is under the age of 18, the parent or guardian who submits the registration form.

"Participant" means the person(s) named on the relevant registration form taking part in the relevant camp. Where that person is under 18, "Participant" includes their parent(s) or guardian(s) as applicable.

2. Booking and Payment
We will provisionally reserve a place on the summer camp or workshops based on these terms and conditions when you make a booking. Your booking will be confirmed only when we have received full payment and a duly completed registration form.
Please check your Confirmation Invoice as soon as you receive it. Contact us immediately if any information appears to be incorrect or incomplete. We cannot accept responsibility for inaccuracies if not reported within two days of sending the invoice. We will do our best to correct issues outside this timeframe, but you will be responsible for any costs unless the error was ours.

3. Changes and Cancellations by Us
3.1 Changes Before Camp Commences
Given the nature of our camps and workshops, flexibility is required. Itineraries may change, even at the last minute, and do not form a contractual obligation.

3.2 Cancellation by Us
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your arrangements, we will inform you as soon as possible. We will not cancel less than 10 days before camp unless due to circumstances beyond our control. These include, but are not limited to: unavoidable technical issues, transport problems, industrial disputes, natural disasters, bad weather, or epidemics/pandemics.

3.3 Inclement Weather
In the event of very poor weather, we reserve the right to cancel the day's booking and may not be in a position to reschedule. This falls under force majeure and is considered outside our control.

4. Changes and Cancellations by You
4.1 Changes to Your Booking
If you wish to change your booking, please email info@afmcooking.com as soon as possible. Changes are subject to availability.

4.2 Cancellations by You
Cancellations must be made by email. The following refund policy applies:

Cancellations made up to 14 days before the start of the camp: Full refund.

Cancellations made within 14 days of the start: 75% of the total cost is non-refundable.

Cancellations made within 72 hours of the start: 100% of the cost is non-refundable.

No refunds once camp has commenced.

For medical cancellations, a full refund will be issued with written verification from a physician within 3 days of cancellation. After this period, only 50% will be refunded.

For Covid-related cancellations, no refund will be issued within 72 hours, but we will attempt to fill the place. If successful, a refund will be issued.

5. Limitation of Liability
We will not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from unforeseeable or unusual circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to technical problems, industrial action, natural disasters, epidemics, or severe weather.
We shall provide guidance and assistance in such circumstances but are not liable for compensation if the situation could not have been avoided even with due care.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

6. Responsibilities of Participants and Guardians

A completed registration and medical form is required for each Participant.

We reserve the right to remove a Participant from camp without refund if incorrect information is provided or if behaviour breaches safety or conduct standards.

Parents/guardians must collect a Participant within 1 hour of notification in case of illness, injury, or behavioural issue.

Participants are expected to respect staff, peers, facilities, and follow instructions at all times.

7. Camp Hours and Supervision

Camp operates from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Thursday

We are not responsible for children outside these hours.

8. Camp Operations

Pods of two will be assigned for the week.

We follow strict hygiene practices and HSE guidance.

Low enrolment may result in cancellation. Full refunds will be issued if no alternative can be offered.

If a facility cancels our use of space and we cannot find an alternative, a full refund will be issued.

9. Personal Property & Lost Items

We are not responsible for lost or damaged belongings.

Lost property will be held until the Monday after camp ends, then donated.

10. Food Safety

All food prepared at camp is for on-site consumption only.
-
No food may be taken home unless authorised for safety and insurance reasons.

11. Media and Data Use

Participant data is collected for safety and communication purposes.
-
We may use photographs or participant comments in our promotional materials unless you opt out in writing at the time of booking.

12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by Irish law. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

13. Indemnity
By enrolling, you agree to hold harmless Another Fine Mess Cooking Camp and its staff against claims arising from personal injury or loss resulting from participation in camp activities, except in cases of gross negligence. You agree to indemnify us against claims resulting from a participant's failure to follow rules or instructions.

14. Confirmation
All bookings will be confirmed by email. A booking is only valid when full payment and registration details are received.
​
15. Weather Conditions
Camp will proceed in light or moderate rain. In cases of extreme weather (e.g. weather warnings), camp may be cancelled without rescheduling.
